Q. We recently listened to your podcast on fruit intake and the hazards of processed juices. At our house we frequently take the time to make fresh orange juice for immediate consumption. What are your thoughts on this?
Answer. There’s nothing like just-squeezed orange juice–and it’s much more nutritious than processed juice. You’d still be better off eating the whole orange, however. To avoid consuming too much sugar, exercise moderation when drinking orange juice–even when it’s fresh-squeezed. A serving is one-half cup.
