In a perfect world, we’d all eat nothing but organically grown fruits and vegetables. In the real world, organic produce may not always be available or affordable. I’ve talked before about which fruits and vegetables have the highest pesticide residues and how you can prioritize your organic dollar. But whatever you do, don’t let fears about pesticides keep you from eating fresh fruits and vegetables. To put it in perspective: The benefits of eating lots of fresh produce far outweigh the potential risks of pesticide exposure.
I have more guidance on the best ways to reduce your exposure to pesticides in my new book, Secrets for a Healthy Diet: What to Eat, What to Avoid, and What to Stop Worrying About.
