Quick Tip: Use Removable Labels for Containers
I’m kind of a cook-once-eat-many-times guy, so food in plastic containers is pretty common in my life. When I’m working in an office, my food often finds its way into the office fridge. When I’m in the mood to reheat something, I want to find what I’m looking for fast, and know if it’s still good.
Here’s a quick trick: buy a sheet or two of removable file folder labels. Keep them next to your storage containers. When you put something in a container, grab a label. Jot down what it is, the date you cooked it, and the date you froze it, and put the label on the container. Now it’s really fast and easy to find what you want. And since you used removable labels, they come right off before you put them in the dishwasher. (Note: if you get them wet, don’t try to remove the labels. Let them dry and THEN the label will come right off.)
