Are Green Powders Worth the Money?
What to do you if you can’t stomach eating your greens.
Monica Reinagel, MS, LD/N, CNS
Q. I know I should be eating my veggies but I find that very hard to do. Do green powders offer any nutritional value or are they just a waste of money?
Answer. Powdered green food supplements do contain some nutrients. But whether these high-priced products provide value is another question entirely. Personally, I don’t think the nutritional benefits come close to justifying the cost. So if you can’t stomach eating your greens, why not drink them instead? Add some greens to a smoothie for a delicious and nutritious treat. See my episode on How to Make a Perfect Smoothie for some suggestions.
