Ask the Diva: Are Hot Peppers Bad for You?
Q. I try to eat a healthy diet but I add hot peppers to almost all my meals. Can you clarify if this is bad for me?
Answer. Assuming you don’t have any problems with your stomach (such as GERD or gastritis) that might be exacerbated by hot peppers, eating hot peppers is not bad for you. In fact, in addition to being high in vitamin C and other antioxidants, the capsaicin they contain has anti-inflammatory benefits.
