How to Make Your Lashes Look Fuller
To make your lashes look fuller than ever, apply two coats of mascara every time you do your lashes. But here’s the secret! Between the first and second coats, apply a thin layer of baby powder with a make-up brush. The mascara will adhere to the powder, and it will stay on your lashes longer.
Clumpy Mascara?
When your mascara starts to clump, you don’t have to toss it out! Smooth it out again by setting the tube in a teacup of near-boiling water for five minutes.
Make Mascara Application Cleaner
Tired of getting mascara on your skin when you apply it to your lower lashes? Next time, grab a plastic spoon, and gently place it under the lower lashes, with the curved side facing out. When you apply the mascara, the excess will stick to the spoon, not your face. Or, stick Post-It Notes under each eye.
Out of Mascara? Not So Fast
Applying the finishing touches to your make-up and realize you’re out of mascara? Here’s a great tip to get that last bit out of the tube. Simply roll the tube quickly between your hands for 30 seconds. The heat generated by the friction is enough to soften the mascara stuck to the sides of the tube, so you’ll have just enough to apply to your lashes before you run out the door.
Fix Dried-Out Mascara
Mascara starting to dry out? Just add several drops of saline eye drops and shake. The eye drops will thin out what’s left in the bottle with a fluid that’s antiseptic. Just remember, you should throw out mascara after three months of use.
Reuse an Old Mascara Wand
When you toss an old tube of mascara, don’t throw away the wand! It can become a valuable tool in your make-up bag. Clean it with warm soapy water, then use it to separate lashes stuck together with mascara. Or, add a bit of petroleum jelly to the wand, as apply as you would mascara to moisturize dry lashes.
