Why You Should Put Cucumber On Your Eyes
Place slices of cucumber on your eyes to combat puffiness. It may seem like an old wives’ tale, but cucumbers have a mild anti-inflammatory action. To make your experience even more enjoyable, keep the cucumber in the fridge until you’re ready to use it. The coolness will feel wonderful on your eyelids, and the cold will help further restrict blood vessels and reduce puffiness.

Cucumber at the Ready
Here’s a unique twist on the traditional cucumber-slices-on-eyes trick. Peel and chop half a cucumber and puree it in a blender with ½ cup cold water. Strain the mixture into a spray bottle. Spritz it onto round cosmetic pads to saturate, and place the pads on your eyes for 10 minutes. Do this anytime you have some extra redness or puffiness around the eyes for immediate relief!
Use a Potato Instead
Don’t have any cucumbers? Try potato slices instead! Place a slice of potato on each eye and leave for 15 minutes. The potato will draw out the puffiness.
How to Get Rid of Puffy Eyes with Spoons
If all else has failed in your efforts to de-puff your eyes, try cold spoons. Put two spoons in the refrigerator or freezer for five minutes, then roll them slowly back and forth over your eyes until you feel them start to warm up. Make sure your skin is completely dry before you do this, or you’ll be faced with an entirely new problem.
Mint Makes It Better
To get rid of puffy eyes, a sprig of fresh mint leaves can do the trick: Chop up and crush the mint, then pat it onto the dark skin beneath your eyes. Let it sit for about 20 minutes, and rinse.
Herbal Green Tea Treatment
Reduce puffy or swollen eyes with a green tea compress. Dip cotton wool into the green tea, drain off excess moisture, and dab gently around the eye area. This will help tighten the skin around the eyes.
Egg Whites for Baggy Eyes
Fix a sagging under-eye area by rubbing egg whites on it. As the whites dry, you’ll feel the skin get tighter. Leave on for a few minutes, then rinse off with cool water. The proteins in the egg whites help add collagen and tighten the area
Saltwater Solution
Puffy eyes? Soak cotton pads in a solution of 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 cup hot water, then apply them to your eyes and relax. Your eyes will be less swollen in 15 minutes or less.
How to Prevent Puffy Eyes in the Morning
If you often wake up with puffy eyes, there’s an easy remedy. Drink a glass of water before you go to bed, and make sure your head is elevated while you sleep. This will make sure you’re not retaining fluid in the area.
