Quick Tip: When Eating Citrus, Think Pithy Thoughts
For a nutritional bonus, don’t peel every last bit of white pith from your oranges and grapefruit. The slightly bitter pith is higher in certain valuable nutrients than the juicy part of the fruit. In particular, the pith contains most of the herperidin, which may help lower elevated blood pressure and cholesterol and the limonene, which may have cancer-preventing properties.
