Ask the Diva: Is Decaffeinated Green Tea Just as Good?
Q. I was wondering if the active ingredient in green tea (I forget what it’s called) remains if the green tea is decaffeinated?
Answer. I think you’re referring to EGCG, an antioxidant in green tea that has been linked to several potential health benefits. Decaffeinated green tea does contain some EGCG, but a lot less than what you get from regular green tea. For more details, here’s a link to my show on green tea.
