Help Us Guide You Through This—A Message from Team QDT
The volume of media noise about coronavirus can be overwhelming. The QDT team stands ready to help you navigate this unfamiliar landscape.
As the coronavirus crisis unfolds, we all find ourselves in uncharted territory. Stories from around the globe spark everything from anxiety about the unknown to hope as we witness the resiliency of the human spirit. None of us have lived through an event of this global magnitude before. The sheer volume of media noise is overwhelming.
We have a responsibility to both let you know where we’re headed and listen for your voices so you can guide us along. After all, we’re navigating this unfamiliar new landscape together.
I hesitate to add to the cacophony with a message from QDT. Your inboxes are already filled with statements from every company you’ve ever given your email address to. And yet, as a committed and caring team of podcasters and writers, I believe we have a responsibility to both let you know where we’re headed and listen for your voices so you can guide us along. After all, we’re navigating this unfamiliar new landscape together.
Prepared, not scared
As I thought about how our team should handle our approach to content during the COVID-19 pandemic, two things struck me:
- We should not sensationalize it
- We can’t ignore it
So, what can we do instead?
One of the most unique and special things about the Quick and Dirty Tips network is that we’ve gathered a team of people who are not only excellent writers and podcasters but credentialed subject matter experts who provide evidence-based insights to help you live your life.
What we can do is prepare you rather than scare you. Instead of skewing negative and leaning into everyone’s fears, we’ve decided to stay helpful. That’s how we roll here at QDT.
Helpful information in an uncertain time
The QDT team wants to be a resource for people who are struggling to navigate the circumstances we find ourselves in. We’ve all been urged to be hygienic and sanitary, to maintain social distance, to work from home, and to self-quarantine if we’re sick. All of these requests create more questions.
- What food should I have on hand?
- If I need to avoid the gym and fitness classes, how can I work out at home?
- What do I need to know about telecommuting if I’ve never done it before?
- What’s the difference between an epidemic and a pandemic?
Our podcasters, audio producers, and editorial team have been incredibly responsive and flexible, banding together to update articles from our archives and create new episodes about essential topics we know are most relevant to you right now.
What questions can we help you with?
We’re a team of helpers. That’s what QDT is about—helping you do things better. We’ve always invited your questions through each individual show host’s listener lines, email, and social media. Now, we’re taking that up a notch. How can we help you through this crisis? If you’re anything like me, you have hundreds of questions running through your head. This is your platform.
Now is the time for us to unify and use our strengths, whatever they may be, to lift others.
We can’t address every question, but we’ll do our best to answer those our expert team is qualified to speak to, and that will have a broad interest for our audience. You can send your question through the form below.
We’re in this together as a global community. Now is the time for us to unify and use our strengths, whatever they may be, to lift others.
We wish you hope, resiliency, and wellness.
